News Release: ANN M. IMUS NAMED PARTNER OF NEWMAN DIERST HALES ACCOUNTING FIRM
Seattle, WA (Feb. 12, 2009): Ann M. Imus has been promoted to partner with Newman Dierst Hales, PLLC. Newman Dierst Hales is a full-service tax and accounting CPA firm specializing in helping owner-operated businesses, individuals, and healthcare organizations and healthcare professionals meet their tax, accounting and planning needs.
A CPA for 29 years, Imus has been with Newman Dierst Hales for the past two years. She has a wide breadth of experience working with public and private businesses. Her public accounting experience includes responsibilities as a senior tax specialist with Touche Ross & Co. (currently Deloitte & Touche) in Honolulu, as an auditor with White, Sluyter and Co. in Corpus Christi, Texas, and for Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (currently KPMG), in Honolulu, conducting audits of banks and savings and loans.
Imus also had her own CPA firm in Bellevue, Wash., for 13 years. Prior to that she worked as a corporate tax supervisor for New Vector Communications, Inc. (currently Verizon Wireless), where she was responsible for all federal, state and local tax planning, research and reporting for the rapidly growing cellular phone company.
Before joining Newman Dierst Hales, Imus worked for the Bellevue School District as a senior budget analyst, helping to prepare the district’s $130 million annual budget and was responsible for advising and supporting federal grant administrators, principals and departmental administrators on all financial and budget matters.
Imus is looking forward to her new role with Newman Dierst Hales. “This is a fabulous opportunity. Our firm is growing and has a strong group of professionals who embrace our client-centric model,” she said. “I’ve served in many different areas within this profession. As partner, I can take on a leadership role to further expand our firm.”
Imus graduated with a BA in accounting from the University of Oregon and a Masters of Taxation from Golden Gate University in Seattle. She is active in her community. She’s taken on leadership roles in her children’s school’s PTSAs, co-founded the Bellevue Blast Fastpitch Association, has volunteered as a fastpitch softball coach for 13 years, and helped create the Knights Athletic Booster Association, the umbrella booster club for Newport High School in Bellevue. She is a sports enthusiast who enjoys playing tennis, volleyball and golf. Imus lives with her husband, Mike, in Bellevue, Wash., where they raised three children.

News Release: NEWMAN DIERST HALES ACCOUNTING FIRM GROWS WITH ADDITIONAL STAFF
Seattle, WA (Aug. 22, 2008): Newman Dierst Hales, PLLC has added five new positions to its organization to keep up with increasing demand for its unique blend of services.
Jon Martin has been named senior tax manager, Roen Ako was hired as tax senior, and Dennis Foo, Kimberly Albers and Nancy Rizzo have joined as tax associates. Newman Dierst Hales is a full-service tax and accounting CPA firm specializing in helping owner-operated businesses, individuals, and healthcare organizations and healthcare professionals meet their tax, accounting and planning needs.
The additional positions will allow for future growth, said Newman Dierst Hales human resources director and CPA Ann Imus. “This is an exciting time for our firm. These high-caliber individuals are a key part of our growth strategy. We will be able to further expand and broaden our services while continuing to provide excellent service to our clients. Each new employee will contribute an added level of expertise to our team in a professionally enriching, team-oriented work environment,” she said.
Prior to joining Newman Dierst Hales, Jon Martin served for five years as a tax manager for Voldal Wartelle & Co. P.S. in Bellevue. He was responsible for a variety of tasks such as audit resolution, tax compliance, research and tax planning. Martin was also a tax supervisor with McGladrey & Pullen, LLP and a tax senior associate with Arthur Anderson, LLP.
Roen Ako most recently was an assurance senior associate with Grant Thornton LLP in Seattle, where she worked on audits for the manufacturing and merchandising industries. She graduated cum laude from Seattle University with a BA in Business Administration in Accounting.

Our team raised a healthy contribution for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on Sunday, March 18th at the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle. The 69-flight course included 1,311 steps, with 19 steps per flight and 788 feet of vertical elevation. We look forward to raising even more money during next year’s Climb!
